Foreword
BritishJournalistInJapan.com is Tim Maughan, a seasoned, qualified print journalist and editor based in Osaka. He specialises in features, whose discerning readers demand total attention to detail. Tim, fully trained in media law and Teeline Shorthand, has been writing professionally since 1997.
After a decade as a court and local reporter and business journalist in London and the south east, he moved to Japan in 2008. With a strong contact network, we can get to the nub of the story, and provide accompanying pictures. The story could be about global shipping, or the Japanese work culture. It could be about Japanese Mods on vintage Lambretta scooters, or more potent British Triumph Motorcycles (see the Portfolio section). Interviews can be conducted in the flesh, in Japan, or via Skype and telephone, for stories away from Japanese shores.
In Japan, Tim Maughan provides his own photography to accompany stories.
